This is a warm, comforting dish using the beautiful plums from the Okanagan. Great for the cool, rainy Sunday mornings. Serve this sauce with pancakes. We love using Treasure Life Mills, from Creston BC. They make theirs out of ancient grains and heirloom grains.
Use a combination of yellow and black plums – if you’re in BC, the varieties here are endless!
Anise, four stars
Cardamom, ½ teaspoon
Warm coconut oil in pot till it crackles. Add spices for 30 seconds.
Add plums. Cook till it reduces to a warm mixture. Serve on a pancake with cinnamon-butter apple topping.
